Why should I consider Biomedical Intervention for my child with Autism?

Studies and clinical experience have shown that a high percentage of our children are biologically sick. How these core issues, which  can be many and varied, further develop to affect behaviour and learning, will vary from child to child, as will the treatments.

Several eminent doctors have described our children as 'metabolic train-wrecks'. (Autism One Conference 2005)

The common medical issues which impact on the health and behaviour of those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (and other learning disabilities) can summarised under the following headings:-

Gastrointestinal Abnormality

Compromised Immunity

Impaired Detoxification Systems

Abnormal Nutritional Profiles

There is a list of commonly reported issues which may resolve with biomedical interventions.

A project is underway to compile copies of research studies, papers, articles and videos that explain this the science behind these issues. This will be a work in progress for many months to come. If you can help with pulling all the information together, please email us.
